It’s almost 1am…

… and I’m sitting in front of the computer, wide awake. I have to get up early for work, tomorrow.

Actually, ‘wide awake’ isn’t quite right. From the thighs down I’m wide awake. My toes are twitching to a rhythm all their own. The top half of me is wondering when it can get to sleep, beautiful sleep. Sigh.

Magnesium deficiency? Probably. The things they don’t tell you about the aftermath of surgery.

There’s a big spider in the bathroom sink, too. HUGE.

  1. A magnesium deficiency does not sound good. If the twitching continues, promise me you will go and see your doctor, okay?

  2. It settled down after a couple of pieces of fruitcake (homemade with almond and hazelnut meal – it was the only thing I could think of that should contain some minerals for me) and a mug of water. Go figure.

But I will get it checked out if it continues. I’m fairly sure that it’s a continuation of a post-op problem – I had at least one blood transfusion and it caused massive iron, mag and potassium deficiencies.
